Norfolk Harborfest is one of the largest free maritime festivals in the country, and 2026 is a milestone year. The festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and it coincides with Sail 250 Virginia, a statewide commemoration of America's 250th birthday that is bringing international tall ships to the Hampton Roads waterfront.

The Parade of Sail and Tall Ships
The Parade of Sail kicks off the festival on Friday at noon, with tall ships entering the harbor in formation. Fireworks
Harborfest features one of the largest fireworks displays on the East Coast, fired over the Elizabeth River. Shows are scheduled for both Friday and Saturday nights at 9:30 p.m. The best viewing is along the waterfront at Town Point Park, though the displays are visible from many spots along the Norfolk and Portsmouth shorelines.
