When you book a private charter, the boat matters. It determines how comfortable your group is, what kind of water you can access, and how the day actually feels from the moment you step on the dock to the moment you step off. SeaEO Luxury Boat Charters uses one vessel across their entire fleet: the Axopar 37 XC Cross Cabin, in 2021 through 2025 model years.
This is not a typical charter boat. The Axopar 37 XC is a Finnish-designed vessel that has won multiple awards in the boating industry, and SeaEO calls it the "SUV of the Seas" for a reason. It is built to do a little bit of everything well. It can run offshore in open water, slide into shallow sandbars, handle a rainy afternoon without ruining the trip, and keep 13 guests comfortable for a full day.
Here is a closer look at what is actually on board.
The Specs
-
Length: 38 feet / 11.5 meters
-
Capacity: 13 guests plus crew (the vessel is yacht-certified and rated for 26 passengers, but Coast Guard law caps charter capacity at 13 plus crew)
-
Horsepower: 600–800 hp depending on the location
-
Max speed: 58 mph
-
Draft: 2'9"
That shallow draft means the boat can get into water that most vessels its size cannot. Sandbars, shallow island approaches, backcountry flats, and tight coastal channels are all accessible. At the same time, the horsepower and hull design give it the ability to handle offshore conditions, open-bay crossings, and longer runs.
The Cabin
The enclosed cabin is one of the features that sets the Axopar 37 XC apart from most boats in the charter space. It is a fully enclosed space with panoramic windows, pocket doors, and an opening sunroof. Seating inside the main cabin accommodates eight, with a standing capacity of 12 to 13.
When the weather is perfect, you can open the sunroof and doors and the cabin essentially becomes open-air. When it rains, gets windy, or the sun is too intense, you can close everything up and the cabin becomes a climate-controlled retreat. The boat has both air conditioning and heat, which means early-morning departures in cooler months and midday charters in the summer are equally comfortable.
This is the feature that makes the Axopar 37 XC work for a wider range of conditions and seasons than most charter boats. A passing rain shower or a cold front does not end the day. It just moves the group inside for a while.
The Bathroom
Every SeaEO boat has a full private bathroom with a hidden toilet. This is one of those things that sounds minor until you are four hours into a charter with a group of 10 and someone needs to go. On a lot of charter boats, there is either no head at all or a cramped, awkward setup that nobody wants to use. The Axopar's bathroom is more comparable to what you would find in a hotel room. Private, enclosed, and designed so that using it does not feel like an afterthought.
The Staterooms
Every boat in the fleet has at least one full-sized stateroom with a bed that fits two adults, and most have two. The staterooms serve a few purposes. They are a place to change into or out of swimwear. They give parents a spot to put a young child down for a nap. And on longer charters, they offer a quiet space for anyone who wants to rest or take a break from the sun.
Seating and Sunbeds
There is seating throughout the entire boat, and it is distributed in a way that lets your group spread out or cluster together depending on the mood.
-
Main cabin: Seats 8, with standing room for 12–13
-
Front cabin: Seats 4–7
-
Front sunbed (bow): Seats 4–5, with standing room for 7–9
-
Rear sunbed or aft bench: Seats 8–12, with standing room for 13+
The two sunbeds, one on the bow and one at the stern, are large enough for multiple people to stretch out. They are where most guests end up once the boat is anchored at a sandbar or island.
Sound System and Connectivity
All SeaEO boats have an upgraded sound system with Bluetooth connectivity, so you can connect your phone and play your own music throughout the day. Most boats in the fleet also have Starlink satellite internet, which can be added at checkout. That gives you WiFi coverage even when you are miles offshore or anchored at a remote island. It is useful for streaming, staying in touch, or video-calling someone from the middle of the Gulf to make them jealous.
Fishing Features
The Axopar 37 XC is not a dedicated fishing boat, but it is equipped for it. Each vessel has a rocket launcher with six rod holders and two to six additional holders built into the gunnels. Some boats in the fleet also have a livewell for keeping bait fresh. A depth finder and fish finder are standard. This setup is well suited for casual fishing, reef fishing, and light offshore trolling as part of a multi-activity charter day.
Accessibility
The Axopar 37 XC has an open transom and low gunnels, which makes boarding and moving around the boat easier than on many vessels its size. SeaEO notes that most guests with disabilities or restricted mobility are able to access the boat and enjoy the day with their group. The swim platform at the stern sits level with the water and has a retractable ladder, making it straightforward to get in and out of the water.
