A Small Town Tradition With Serious Flavor
Every October, Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield fills with the sound of live music, the smell of bacon on the grill, and plenty of people ready to enjoy one of the area’s most talked-about events. The Bacon, Bourbon & Beach Music Festival is back on Saturday, October 4, 2025, and tickets are already moving quickly.
This one-day, 21+ festival has become a tradition for many in Hampton Roads and beyond. With local brews, specialty bourbons, and a full afternoon of music across multiple stages, it’s the kind of event that keeps people coming back year after year.
What’s Included
Your ticket includes more than just entry. Festivalgoers receive:
- A tasting glass for sampling craft beer
- A stadium cup for purchased drinks
- Unlimited tastings from over 40 Virginia breweries
- Half a pound of Smithfield Premium Bacon (about 8 thick slices)
- One trip through the Bacon Bar, featuring a variety of condiments and toppings
- Live music on two main stages and a third on the Manor House Lawn
-
Access to food trucks, retail vendors, and drink stations in both the Brew Village and Bourbon Village
Bourbon Ticket holders also receive 10 tasting tabs for half-ounce pours of select small batch bourbons. Bourbon tickets must be purchased in advance; no upgrades will be offered at the event.
There’s also a Designated Driver ticket available for $30 (cash only at Will Call). DDs still receive bacon and access to the Bacon Bar but may not consume alcohol or participate in tastings. These tickets are available even if the event sells out.
A Few Tips Before You Go
The event takes place on open, grassy fields. Plan for a full afternoon outside and come prepared.
Do bring:
- Lawn chairs or a picnic blanket
- A small, handheld umbrella
- Sunscreen and bug spray
- A valid ID (required for entry)
- Cash or a card; both are accepted and an ATM is available
-
Your empty SVAEvents growler if you have one from a past event
Don’t bring:
- Children, pets, or infants (this is a 21+ event)
- Large tents or beach umbrellas
- Outside food or drinks
-
Alcohol from outside the event
It’s also smart to arrange a ride ahead of time, especially for bourbon ticket holders. With live music and multiple drink stations, the day tends to go by quickly.
Party With a Purpose
Beyond the food and music, this festival helps support the community in a big way. Organizers expect to raise over $80,000 for more than 50 local organizations.
Two featured grant recipients this year include:
- Hands & Hearts – $10,000
-
Rushmere Volunteer Fire Department – $10,000
Knowing that your ticket helps fund important local efforts adds another layer of meaning to the experience.
Make the Weekend Count
If you’re already planning to be in Smithfield for the festival, why not turn the trip into a full-on weekend? Once the bourbon tastings and bacon bites wind down, the coast still has plenty to offer, especially by boat.
